Reynolds

Assemblage

Kurt Reynolds has a reverence for the found, acquired and purchased objects which are the language of his assemblages. His initial encounter with a broken cup, a discarded keepsake, a toy soldier, marks the beginning of a work. His studio is a repository of objects – some of which have lost favor or purpose. Each object, like a single bead separated from a necklace, becomes a pearl in the visual narrative of the pieces he creates. Embedded in his assemblages are themes relating to the ocean, the fragility of peoples lives and political issues of the past and present. Kurt has a professional background in human services. He is an retired art therapist and licensed mental health counselor(LMHC) and has been working from his Provincetown studio since 2014.
