On Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) my good friend and I always go to my favorite pond in Wellfleet and throw stones in the water. Stones for things we want to be rid of or change … and stones for things we are hoping for. When I saw this painting by Nick Patten it immediately made me think of the coming New Year. Lighting candles with intention and good wishes is another ritual that I do as often as possible but especially this time of year.
As we all navigate another holiday season, I want to express my gratitude for the creative and heartful community that I am part of. Provincetown will once again ring in the New Year (as only we can do) with our annual First Light celebration.
Whether it’s our artists who inspire me, or our collectors whose generosity continues to amaze me, I want to send out a big giant Thank You for the part that you play in keeping the arts alive. I will be at the gallery on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday and if you are in town I would love to see you and thank you in person.
PS – If there is something that you saw at the gallery or something that you’ve wanted to commission — maybe it’s time to take the plunge. Its very auspicious to start the new year off with a brand new piece of art!
