Rice Polak Gallery Presents Fourth Exhibition of Summer 2026
The Rice Polak Gallery is excited to announce our fourth exhibition of the 2026 season. We will be presenting three one person exhibitions, featuring the work of Olga Antonova, Tyler Berry & Robin Winfield.
The show previews on – Thursday August 13 and runs through Wednesday August 26. The Opening Reception is on Friday August 14 beginning at 7pm. Stop by the gallery to meet the artists and enjoy some outdoor music.
Like the great European painters of the early 18th century, Olga Antonova has the gift of taking ordinary subjects from everyday life and elevating them to the level of high art. She has built an international reputation with major exhibitions in Europe as well as the States. The Russian-born painter, trained at the prestigious Repin Painting Institute, has enchanted art collectors with her finely-rendered yet whimsically romantic still lifes and self portraits.
Using simple compositions and monumental scale, she presents her subjects with loving care and romantic vision, enhancing and complimenting them with decorative borders that imbue them with a heroic grandeur. Antonova says, “Painting for me is a visual poetry and singing”
Tyler Berry’s paintings begin not with narrative, but with attention. Though representational in form, these works are driven by sensation: the movement of light across a cheekbone, the compression of dark shapes against a field of atmosphere, the silent gravity carried in the tilt of a head or the weight of resting shoulders. The figures that inhabit these paintings are real people drawn from the artist’s life, yet likeness is only the threshold into a more elusive pursuit.
Over the last decade, Berry has immersed himself in the visual language of the Old Masters. Yet these paintings resist imitation or nostalgia. Rather than quoting a singular historical style, they absorb a broad inheritance: the grand manner of British portraiture, the tactile naturalism of Dutch painting, the luminous atmosphere of Venetian art. What emerges is not academic reenactment, but an attempt to participate in a centuries-long conversation about how paint can embody human presence. Technique, in these works, is neither display nor ornament. It serves a quieter purpose: to create a convincing armature for emotional experience.
“My latest work fuses architectural photos from recent travels, with textures, colors and patterns in a conversation between reality and the surreal,” says artist Robin Winfield. “The photo captures a moment to focus on and the surrounding painting plays with the lighting, perspectives and composition in unexpected ways.”
Photographer and painter Robin Winfield’s works continue to document scenes from her travels. Focusing on the beautiful, diverse architecture and doorways from India, Japan, Mexico, Europe and the U.S., Winfield incorporates the photographs from these travels into her work- mounting the prints onto blank boards and painting out to the edges creating her own version of reality.
