There is so much going on in the next few weeks I can barely catch my breathe. For starters i am happy to share this wonderful new video of our third feature show of the season at the gallery. We are exhibiting the extraordinary work of Bruce Ackerson, Les Seifer & Blair Thornley. The show is up through Wednesday August 16th so if you are in town please stop by.
Susan Mikula’s mid career review “Anthology” will be opening at the Mary Heaton Vorse House this Thursday August 10th. The show will be on view until September 10th.”These images – many shown here for the first time – are all from Polaroid originals, taken in natural light. Narrative but not literal, with a kind of indefinition that hopefully gets under your skin. The Mary Heaton Vorse House is such a beauty herself; it’s an honor to show this work on her walls”. A very special thanks to Ken Fulk & Gene Tartaglia for this wonderful opportunity and partnership.
On Friday August 11, I am super proud (and excited and nervous) to announce that my husband, Kevin Rice’s new comedy “The Pickleball Wars” will be opening at the Wellfleet Harbor Actor’s Theater. This world premiere will run through September 9th so if you are on the Cape you are in for a treat! (full disclosure – I’ve become a pickleball addict!)
On Friday August 17th at 6pm (just before our next opening) artist and story teller Willie Little will be reading from his book In the Sticks. In the Sticks is a story of how art became Willie’s destiny, and how art helped him overcome the marginalization of being a gay black man, from the rural south. It’s one man’s journey to overcome the longing to be anywhere, but where he lived.
The gallery is open DAILY, Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings and of course by appointment. Please email or give me a call at 508-487-1052 with any questions or inquires.
